Life Cycle Assessment of Floor Materials for Outdoor Areas

The assessment of floor materials for outdoor areas according to ecological and economic criteria as well as product and usage properties was developed as an information base for the initiative “Nature in the Garden” of the federal state of Lower Austria. 15 floor materials were selected and evaluated according to technical, ecological, economic and quality criteria. The results are to be used for public tenders, for the development of subsidy guidelines and for consulting. Target groups are landscape gardeners, constructors of public and private gardens as well as municipal and political decision-makers.
